The Fab Five once again went South for 3 days of food, fun and friendship. More than 230 ladies attended this event this year. Awesome women. The theme this year was Doo Wop. Yep. Poodle skirts and saddle shoes. Here we are when we first arrived at the beautiful Port Royal Hotel.
This hotel is located on the ocean in Wildwood Crest and the ladies love it! Once again, after checking in and having a snack, we dressed up in our 50’s garb and boarded coaches for the short ride to the Wildwood Convention Center.
After returning to the hotel, we enjoyed some fresh air before retiring for the evening.
The following day was jam packed with activities. First – breakfast and walk on the beach, next bus to Washington Street Mall for some shopping, then lunch and wine tasting at Willow Creek Winery.
Can you guess who these ladies are? We are so easily amused!
We had beautiful weather this year.
Tonight’s dinner is at Menz’s in Rio Grand, once again. This trip was very similar to last year’s, which was a little better. Menz’s was a buffet this year, and they actually ran out of food for a little while, holding up the buffet line. Last year we had sit down service, which everyone agreed was much better.
Afterward, we changed for our pajama party, which was held outside this time, since the weather was cooperating.
What we really enjoy about this event is the fact that we get to meet so many nice women!
Here we are with Charlotte, our new friend from Delaware.
And our trip wouldn’t be complete without a side trip to Serendipity, our favorite shop in Avalon!
Once again, we had a wonderful time, but all agreed that we will have to wait to see what they have in store for us next year. This year we basically did the same thing as last year. We were actually a little disappointed with the welcome reception and the farewell luncheon too. Very minimal snacks. Even the PJ party lacked. Then--- Pizza on the last day. We didn’t even stay for lunch. Certainly a far cry from previous years where we had a pig roast with hula lessons, or a barbecue with all the fixings.
