The DIVINE NINE arrived at the Port Royal Hotel with rings on their fingers and bells on their toes! Plus, a few bottles of wine!
After some minor confusion, we checked into our rooms. To their delight, everyone was in a suite! Oceanfront! Except me! LOL My room was very nice, just not big enough to host a group of 9. Marc, the tour operator offered his apologies and gave me a $125 discount coupon for next year’s event.
Since there were 225 ladies this year (double last years), the Port Royal Hotel was full to capacity, plus about 40 ladies were put up in another hotel, The Pan Am.
The theme this year was “Country Western” so these “cowgirls” were ready and raring to go to the Convention Center for some eee-haa fun!
Oh what a night! Food, drink, and dancing. The band was fantastic, and although this was billed as “Country-Western”, they played all types of music, much of what was from the 60’s. Lots of line dancing. The ladies had a blast.
Day 2 was jam packed with activities. We had an early breakfast at the hotel, and boarded a bus for Cape May, where we spent a couple of hours, enjoying the beautiful weather.
“BUSTED”
After some shopping, we met back at the bus station to be transported to the Willow Creek Winery for a wine tasting and lunch. We all agreed that lunch was fantastic (chicken salad or beef brisket), and the room was beautiful. This was very well organized and we all learned a little more about wine. They also offer a tour through the vineyards on a tram, which we can do on our own at another time. They recommended we call for reservations if we decide to come back.
Since we had a little time to spare, they brought us to Sunset Beach for a quick shopping stop before we boarded our boat for a dolphin watch and sightseeing cruise.
As you can see in the photo above, the winds kicked up and the seas were too rough to venture into Delaware Bay comfortably. So, we turned around and leisurely sailed back through the canal to the marina. Sadly, we didn’t see any dolphins, but we did see many different types of shore birds. The naturalist on board gave a nice presentation so all was not lost.
We arrived back at the hotel with little time to doll up for our dinner at the famous Menz’s Restaurant in Rio Grand.
Our menu choices were, chicken parm, or stuffed salmon. We had mixed reviews on the food, but rave reviews on the ambiance.
Presenting – The Happy Hatter Glamour Girls!
But, the night is young and we headed back to the hotel for yet another party! A pajama party!
There are no words to describe this!
All good things come to an end, but we managed to squeeze one more thing into our day! A shopping trip to Avalon!
We’re looking forward to GIRLS GONE WILD V! We suggested a theme of “Roaring 20’s” and Sheri has already found her dress!
