Today we drove to Toms River to board The River Lady, an authentic old fashioned paddleboat, for a luncheon cruise. Big Thanks go to Judy W. for helping to coordinate this event. Boarding was at 10:30 – with sailing at 11:00. Lunch was very good and the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating. As we cruised the Toms River, our Captain presented a full historical commentary. On our way into Barnegat Bay, we passed some beautiful historical homes and country clubs while our knowledgeable navigator told us about the history of this maritime area in a manner that was not only educational, but also enjoyable.

We enjoyed watching the sailing clubs in the river. We also got a kick out of the fish jumping out of the water – right onto our window!
Happily, no one needed to use the life preserver!
