Wedding Dress Exhibit–Sea Isle City Historical Museum–May 11, 2017

Thanks to Donna and Susan for coordinating our day at the museum, which is located in the building behind the library.  Very interesting – wedding dresses from the 1800’s to the 1990’s.  All the dresses were worn by brides who were married in Sea Isle City.   We all enjoyed looking at old photo’s and artifacts including antique furniture and appliances, military uniforms…….and something I think we all got a kick out of……S&H Green Stamps. 

And……I present the beautiful Happy No Hatters of Smithville!

 

Great lunch at Mama Mia’s…….Quaint Italian restaurant located in a strip mall on Route 9.  Certainly a hidden gem.  Food was excellent – price was right!

 

LEFT, RIGHT, CENTER LUNCHEON–MARCH 10, 2017

BIG THANKS to Kathy and Catherine for coordinating the Left Right Center Luncheon this week.  Everyone had a great time.  28 ladies enjoyed the afternoon with the big winners being, Sheila, Lula and Jill.

Christmas Luncheon December 7, 2016 Smithville Inn

Thanks go out to Catherine and Lorraine for arranging our annual Christmas Luncheon at the beautiful and festive Smithville Inn.  As always, they did a beautiful job making sure we were happy with the service and the food.  

Neil Berg’s 103 Years of Broadway 11/19/16

WOW!  What a show!  Fantastic!  Neil Berg brings the stars of the actual Broadway shows to perform their favorite songs.  Stockton PAC is so convenient and there are truly no bad seats in the theater.  As long as you’re not afraid of heights!  After the show, the ladies went to the Italian Gourmet for a nice dinner.  BIG THANKS to Elaine for coordinating.

Paint and Sip Party–August 29, 2016

BIG THANKS to Janet and Roberta for organizing our first ever Paint and Sip Party.

 

 

   Judging by the finished product, we have some very talented ladies in our group!  I think this event will probably be repeated again next season.  From the feedback that I received, everyone really enjoyed their afternoon. 

Historic Cold Spring Village–August 18, 2016

WOW!  BIG THANKS to Marlene, Elaine and  Lynnda for coordinating our day at this wonderful living history village.  Cold Spring Village brings to life the day-to-day activities of villagers who lived in South Jersey during the “age of homespun.” (1789-1840)    The village is set on 30 acres of shaded lanes with gardens and 26 restored historic buildings housing historically clothed interpreters, who entertained us on the lifestyles, issues, trades and crafts of that time period.  Our guide, Meagan, was fantastic.  We were able to tour at our own pace, with rest stops along the way, allowing us to cool down on this very warm day. 

 

We toured 7 buildings before stopping for lunch at The Grange and then some of us continued to tour 4 more buildings with Meagan.   We were so impressed with our tour and many of us said we would like to return to visit the buildings that we didn’t have time to see.

Our last building was the school house and as you can see, someone misbehaved and was put in the corner with the dunce cap.
