Happy Hatters Trade Red Hats for Hard Hats–ACUA Trip–April 25, 2012

The Happy Hatters enjoyed a fabulous day beginning with a tour of the Atlantic County Utilities Authority and ending with a visit to the Tropicana.   Lunch was at PF Changs, shopping at Chico’s, ending with some gambling at the Tropicana.

Big Thanks go out to Carol, Margie and Sue for coordinating the day.  After 5 years as the Happy Hatter’s, we still continue to enjoy different types of activities.   The Happy Hatter’s are one creative group of women!

The group of 7, (Sue S., Sue H., Donna P., Judy A., Margaret N., Marie P. and Carol) met at the ACUA facility – parked under the solar panels that supply their electricity.   The ladies donned hard hats, and off they went with the tour guide – who was excellent.  He explained how the windmills were installed and showed photo’s to everyone.   The group was also joined by a family from India who were vacationing in the area.   The husband was an engineer who was interested in learning about the facility so he could bring this information back to India to share with his employer.  Fortunately, the wind was blowing in the direction which kept the smells to a minimum.

After this very informative and unusual tour, off they went to the Quarter for lunch at PF Changs where everyone enjoyed sharing the different menu items.   Shopping at Chico’s was next on the agenda and Carol reports seeing many “Chico Bags” among the group as they headed to the Tropicana to try their luck.   There was no further report on the outcome of the luck in the casino – but I would say we are all lucky to have met each other and enjoy getting together for fun, friendship and (last but not least) food!
